Sony Announces Deal With Emerging Sydney Artist

Sony Music Entertainment Australia has today announced their signing of 19-year-old Sydney artist MAY-A (real name Maya Cumming).

Cumming grew up in Byron Bay and started writing music at age 12, eventually joining the town's busking scene. 

“I am so psyched to have signed with Sony Music and excited to see everything that they will bring to the team," said Cumming of the deal. 

"I can’t wait to build our own mini universe full of wonderful creativity.”

“I’m so excited to kick off the next phase of MAY-A’s career. She is such a special artist with so much to offer and I can’t wait for the world to hear what she has been working on," co-manager Christian Lo Russo said. 

"It felt so surreal walking back into the Sony Music building after almost a decade since working with the label for my own band’s music [Amy Meredith]. It has been amazing reconnecting with Denis and the team.”
