Definitely not milking this, are they
Following yesterday's kind-of-emotional news that veteran triple j Breakfast host Alex Dyson and his current partner-in-crime, Matt Okine, will be wrapping up with the station at the end of the year, the pair have announced that they are planning to make a nuisance of themselves one last time with a national victory lap of raves.
The 'Five Raves In Five Days' tour features a slew of awesome local acts and identities manning the decks along with the hosts, from up-and-coming, newly unearthed delights to well-established favourites.
To wit, in Perth, where the tour kicks off on Monday, they'll be joined by DJ-hat-wearing versions of Drapht, Mosquito Coast, San Cisco and Tired Lion; in Adelaide, Bad//Dreems, Jess Kent, Luke Million, Tigerilla and Trials; in Melbourne, Bec Sandridge, Client Liaison, Gretta Ray, Illy, Japanese Wallpaper and Olympia; in Sydney, Gang Of Youths, Lisa Mitchell, Montaigne, One Day, The Preatures and Matt & Alex's triple j co-workers; and, in Brisbane, Amy Shark, Ball Park Music, Confidence Man, Feki ft. Gill Bates, and The Jungle Giants.
"As Darude's messengers here on earth, we felt it was our duty to spread the word of the rave across the country, while saying goodbye to our faithful heaving friends," the presenters said in a joint statement. "With a heavy heart, and heavy investments in the glow-stick industry, we look forward to raving with you one last time."
