Splendour headliner Mark Ronson has slammed a “shady” promoter that falsely advertised he would be DJing in Perth last night.

A local promoter sold tickets to an event called Winter Funk Fest featuring a DJ set by the UK producer at Matisse Beach Club, which Ronson was unaware of.

“A promoter falsely advertised I'm djing a club 2nite. COMPLETE BS. Truly sorry if any 1 bought tix,” Ronson tweeted.

“SHADY PROMOTERS USING YOUR BRAND TO ADVERTISE FAKE GIGS. don't make me tell @iamdiddy.”

Considering he was spotted at WA venue Jack Rabbit Slim’s on Tuesday before performing with his band in the state the following night, it seems a little unbelievable that he would fly back to WA on Saturday after playing Splendour the previous night.

The British musician has promised free entry to his next Perth show to anyone who purchased tickets to the show at Matisse.

[UPDATE] An apology has been posted on the club's Facebook page. "Matisse would to formally and sincerely apologise to all those affected by the events that occurred yesterday in relation to our Winter Funk Fest."

They noted that arrangements were being made for refunds, adding: "Matisse are angered by the position our customers and ourselves have been put in by a third party booking agent and promoter who sold us the appearance."

The posting continued, "We are fulling investigating the matter and will take appropriate action based on our findings. For this reason we are unable to comment further."

It went on to also apologise to Ronson, his management and the event sponsors.
