"It's so beautiful, and that’s why I like it. I love the other side of Byron too, but this is really amazing, sublime."
Marianne Faithfull and Warren Ellis have shared the first single from their forthcoming album.
The single is dubbed She Walks In Beauty, taken from the album of the same name which is due for release late next month, and is a spoken word version of Lord Byron's classic poem by Faithfull accompanied by the music of Ellis.
"It’s very romantic, not like you imagine Byron to be," said Faithfull.

"It’s so beautiful, and that’s why I like it. I love the other side of Byron too, but this is really amazing, sublime. And I was very drawn to the ability to do really beautiful rhymes. I think that’s from being a songwriter. It’s incredibly nice. Not what I connect with Lord Byron at all."
The album was recorded just before and during the first COVID lockdown, the joint venture between the two, She Walks In Beauty, will drop on April 30 and feature poetry set to music with special guest appearances from Nick Cave, Brian Eno and more. Read all about it here.
