More Marianas Trench More Marianas Trench

Canadian pop rockers Marianas Trench will be back in Australia this September touring their album Phantoms

After cancelling both their 2020 shows and 2021 rescheduled dates, the boys are more excited than ever to finally make their way onto Australian soil.

After touring across North America, the UK, and most of Europe, the Suspending Gravity Tour will touch down in Sydney on September 15th, before heading down to Melbourne on September 17th and finishing off in Brisbane on September 18th.

The tour will celebrate their latest album, Phantoms, which is their most exploratory yet, with lead singer Josh Ramsey stating: “Each time we do an album, I try and write something that’s out of my vocal reach that forces me to get better."

He continues by adding that "his three favourite collaborators", bassist Mike Ayley, guitarist Matt Webb, and drummer Ian Casselman, are also proud of their commitments to push boundaries on the record.

The opening song Eleonora boasts the band's trademark soaring harmonies that plant the listener firmly in a Marianas Trench album, however the further we explore, the more we can see how the band have pushed their boundaries. Bouncy club beats and snappy guitar riffs lay the bed for Ramsey's voice to shine. It's easy to tell that the songs would translate to make a dynamic and entertaining live performance.
