Man Accused Of Murdering Aussie DJ Contests Bail Decision

Under “special circumstances”

The man accused of murdering Byron Bay DJ Chris Bradley has applied for bail a second time following a Supreme Court decision earlier this month he would remain in jail before the trial.

As Northern Star reports, 24-year-old Javen O'Neill has today contested the decision, applying for bail under "special circumstances".

O'Neill – who is a trained Muay Thai kickboxer - has been accused of punching the victim multiple times at a house party in Byron Bay on Christmas night; an alleged assault that was witnessed by three people.

Bail was initially denied after the Supreme Court was told he had an "underlying short fuse".

The accused’s solicitor, Ivan Vizintin, has now reportedly filed a release application for bail with the hopes it will be addressed next Thursday.
