Maitreya Festival Acts Announce Last-Minute Melbourne Shows

Not even the cancellation of the event itself can dissuade these artists

Respite may be at hand after a disappointing week for punters who had planned to attend the now-axed Maitreya Festival: a bunch of just-announced shows from several of the line-up's finest acts!

A number of international acts currently in Melbourne for the canned event have taken it upon themselves to find alternative places to play. For starters, German drawcard Robert Babicz will be putting on a show for the Broz crew at Brown Alley this Monday, 14 March, from 3pm till midnight, with the venue offering free entry to all festival ticketholders (ID needed for confirmation). Non-ticketholders will be able to pick up a limited $15 pre-sale pass or nab one at the door for $20. UK act Audiojack will be entertaining crowds at the same venue, upstairs, with early-bird tickets on sale for $10.

Additional gigs where you'll be able to see Maitreya acts across the weekend include Tramp Bar's Fake Tits party tonight, 11 March, with French tech/deep house luminary Kolombo joining the fray (tickets through the venue), as well as Darkbeat's 13th birthday party on Sunday, at The Railway Hotel, featuring Thomas SchumacherSebastien LegerGuy J and Anthony Pappa (tickets here).

Also on Sunday, Edu Imbernon heads to Onesixone (tix at the door), while Monday will see Adana Twins hit up The Railway Hotel for Anyway Presents Anytreya from 2pm till late (tickets).
