New event slated for next March.
Organisers of the controversy-plagued Maitreya Festival appear to be moving forward with plans for a 2017 event, despite claims they still owe thousands of dollars to its own caterers.
Earlier this month, a number of vendors who have worked with the festival for many years, alleged they are still owed money from this year's event (which was cancelled at the last minute) and have not been contacted by organisers since.
One vendor has claimed they are still owed just under $6000.

However, Maitreya has begun to promote the new event, scheduled to take place in Byron Bay in March, advising that punters who were left without refunds from this year's festival will get in for free next year.

Kylee Bullen, of La Crepe Downunder, was one of the vendors contacted by email just weeks ago by organisers who invited them to take part in the proposed new event.
"I honestly reckon they are just trying to get out of paying everybody back all the money, the caterers especially," Bullen told The Music this month, who also claims to still be owed $4200.
"There’s three other festivals that have been created in that absence over the long weekend which I intend to try and get into one or two of them."
The Music has contacted Maitreya Festival for comment.
