"We were always just doing it our own way."
Magic Dirt are set to reissue their debut album Friends In Danger on vinyl.
This marks the first time the album has been reissued since its original release in 1996.
Friends In Danger followed on from the release of Magic Dirt's 1995 EP Life Was Better which gained international attention and saw the group ink a deal with Warner Bros US and saw Dave Thomas join the group on guitar.
"...It's not like we set out to be different... we were always just doing it our own way," said frontwoman Adalita at the time of release.
"When we started we were just doing what we thought was fun, rather than doing what you do to be successful," said bass player Dean Turner on release. "And I just thought that was how every band did it."
The album would go on to land at #25 on the ARIA Albums Chart and go on to be revered as an Australian classic.

Magic Dirt has dedicated the release of the reissue to Thomas, who passed away last year, with a statement reading "His legacy will live on and Magic Dirt would like to acknowledge his incredible contribution to the Australian music scene and are especially indebted to him for his support and encouragement of the band in their early years".
The album is available for pre-order now for its 9 July release. Head here for all the info.
