Magic Bones Announce New Single & Tour Dates

The Melbourne garage punks have lifted the veil on new jam 'Hotter Than The Sun'

More Magic Bones More Magic Bones

Melbourne garage-punk crew Magic Bones are ramping up for the release of their debut studio full-length later this year with the announcement of an impending east-coast tour in the wake of blistering new single Hotter Than The Sun.

The track made its premiere on triple j's Home & Hosed last night, revealing itself as a raucous, moreish, driven piece of rough-edged DIY rock that more than lives up to its name in terms of being an absolute scorcher of a song, bursting out of its opening urgent bass and drums into a carefree, gloriously cacophonous piece of work that commands attention from go to whoa.

It follows in the footsteps of previous single Danger I Am, which did good business for the band on the Australian Independent Record Labels Association (AIR) charts over an eight-week stint that saw the single peak at #2 and even be named Rage's Indie Clip Of The Week.

Magic Bones have a wealth of live experience to their name, including as primary support act for the likes of British India, Stonefield, Bad//Dreems, Harts and Kingswood — as well as the iconic Radio Birdman — and they're all set to build further on their performance renown with their upcoming six-date tour.

They'll kick off in Brisbane at West End's Bearded Lady on Thursday 20 April, and scoot through Byron Bay, Sydney, Wollongong and Melbourne on the way through to Adelaide, where they wrap the run on Saturday 29 April at The Austral.

That won't be the last we hear of the band this year, of course; Magic Bones' debut album is due for release in June.
