Madina Lake bassist plays for first time since attack

Madina Lake bassist Matthew Leone has successfully performed onstage for the first time since a sickening attack left the musician fighting for his life last year.

Killyourstereo reported earlier in the month, Leone's plans to rejoin Madina Lake, playing live once again. Consequently, ABC7Chicago.com covered the event in a recent video news report.

As the site summarises:

"A Chicago musician critically beaten as he tried to break up a fight between a man and a woman was back on stage Saturday night."

Later, Leone himself told the news site how the gig, held at Chicago's Metro went.

"My index finger was a little more difficult to control, which I thought was very interesting. It's hard to keep in time. But we're battling through, and we'll be OK," Leone said.

As previously noted, the bass player had a third of his skull removed as a result of last year's attack.

Madina Lake are set to tour Australia later in the year as part of the Soundwave Revolution.
