The Melbourne music documentary will air this weekend and feature Tim Rogers, Adalita, Jane Gazzo and more.
A documentary focusing on Melbourne’s live music community will be broadcast on network TV this weekend, with a focus on what might be one of the most epic guitars ever produced.
Upcoming doco Made From Melbourne, airing 10pm this Saturday on Channel Nine, is based on a project of the same name that saw a one-of-a-kind guitar made from the actual timber of iconic Melbourne live music venues The Tote, The Espy, The Corner Hotel and Cherry Bar.
The documentary will feature You Am I’s Tim Rogers, Magic Dirt’s Adalita, Shihad’s Jon Toogood, Cosmic Psychos’ Ross Knight, Jane Gazzo and more.
The Maton MM3000 was backed by music charity Support Act, Mushroom Records and the late Michael Gudinski and has been described as a guitar “infused with the blood, sweat and spilt beers of Melbourne’s live music scene”.
“Melbourne has become a leading live music hub – with more live music played on more stages than other city in the world,” director and musician Matt Weston said.
“The importance and value local venues add to Melbourne cannot be underestimated and needs to be celebrated.”
