"I just really fell in love with it."
US director Paul Feig has wanted to reunite with Anna Kendrick ever since his 2018 critically-acclaimed film, A Simple Favor, and his new TV series Love Life sees them come together once again.
Love Life, which premieres on Stan tonight, will follow a different protagonist’s quest for love each season with the first starring Academy Award winner Kendrick.
Appearing on the latest episode of The Green Room with Neil Griffiths podcast, Feig, who executive produced the ten-episode first series alongside Kendrick, said he "fell in love" with the show.
"It was a chance to do a deep dive into one person's life and their love life, but also what turns a person into what they become," Feig told host Neil Griffiths.
The US filmmaker, who also directed hits like Bridesmaids and The Heat, as well as worked on iconic TV shows like The Office, said he had actively been looking for new projects to do with Kendrick after A Simple Favor.

"I remember just thinking this is perfect for her," he recalled.
"She's so lovable and yet acerbic and funny, but emotional. She can just hit all the tones you need for this really relatable character.
"She doesn't do TV, so I was kinda like, 'I dunno, let's take a chance.' And she really fell in love with it... so much so, that she wanted to come on producorially also with a lot of ideas based on a lot of things that she's been through in her life."
