The lo-fi luminary will play on stages all around the country throughout next month
Veteran cult-favourite musician Lou Barlow will head off on a run of shows in Australia dubbed the Brace The Wave tour this coming January, hot on the heels of his new video Nerve.
The lo-fi hero stands before the might of his musical influence as the sole inventor to the lo-fi, defining the 90s indie-rock sound, has long been considered the gatekeeper to many artists and songwriters to his lane.
The co-founder of Dinosaur Jr, after having moved on, found his own lane through bands Sebadoh, Sentridoh and the Folk Implosion, providing an unflinching soundscape both warm and downbeat. Into 2015, Barlow has just released a catalogue of tracks on Brace The Wave; which, in his own words, is “Nine songs without drums, without regrets”.
Barlow’s live solo appearances cover the wide span of his career and he is expected not to disappoint over his run of dates opening 25 January at Brightside, Brisbane then he appears at Magic Mirrors Spiegeltent at Sydney (26 January), Northcote Social Club, Melbourne (28 January), Crown + Anchor in Adelaide (29 January) and finishing at Fremantle’s Mojo (30 January). Tickets are to be available from Oztix and at venues listed.
