Lostprophets React To Frontman’s Horrific Child Sex Accusations

Band is a "state of shock" as terrible details emerge

Band members of popular Welsh rock band Lostprophets have claimed they're in a “state of shock” over their frontman Ian Watkins' child sex abuse charges.

A statement came from the band as British media - and locally from AAP - reported that one of the charges included conspiring to rape a one-year-old girl.

News of 35-year-old Watkins' arrest and charge – alongside two females, aged 20 and 24 – broke yesterday, sending shockwaves through the band's international fanbase.

A brief statement from the rest of the band read, “Following charges made today against Ian Watkins, we find ourselves in a state of shock. We are learning about the details of the investigation along with you. It is a difficult time for us and our families, and we want to thank our fans for their support as we seek answers.”

They have cancelled a planned tour in the fall-out over the charges.

Watkins is charged with two counts of conspiring to engage in sexual touching with two young women as well as possessing, making and distributing indecent images and possessing “extreme” animal pornography.
