"After eight years of great tunes, 'The Loop' is coming to an end this weekend."

Popular music video show The Loop has been cancelled.

The show, hosted on Network 10's digital channel 10 Peach, features music videos and news each Saturday from 9am to 11.30am.

"After eight years of great tunes, The Loop is coming to an end this weekend - and we’re going out the only way we know how...with a bang!" a post on the show's Facebook page reads.

The last show with hosts Olivia Phyland and Justin Hill will air this Saturday 8 February.

Reasons behind the cancellation are not known and fans have taken to social media to express their disappointment.

"This made my Saturday mornings. It won't be the same now," one user wrote.

"Really disappointing that this is coming to an end. It was always a great way to kick off the weekend," shared another.

The Loop premiered in 2012 and previous hosts included Ash London, Kent 'Smallzy' Small, Scott Tweedie and  Angus O'Loughlin.

The cancellation comes following the news that the ABC's music show The Set was "struggling to get the budget".

The Music has reached out to Network 10 for further comment.
