“It is our hope to pass this iconic venue with its world-class entertainment onto a fabulous new operator.'

After an incredible 14 years, the owners of Lizotte’s Newcastle have announced that the iconic venue is up for sale.

The famed music and dinner venue, which has hosted the likes of Mick Fleetwood, Macy Gray, Jimmy Barnes, Keith Urban, Diesel, Kasey Chambers, Ian Moss, Daryl Braithwaite and more, will go on the market tomorrow.

Owner Brian Lizotte said that the decision followed extensive deliberation, stating, “Our growing family is now to be our main focus.”

“It is our hope to pass this iconic beautiful old venue with its world-class entertainment and fine cuisine baton onto a fabulous new operator,” Lizotte said.

“Someone that will continue to offer the Newcastle community and beyond more world-class entertainment and hospitality for the years to come.”

It has been confirmed that the venue will continue booking acts and that “all shows that are currently on sale will be going ahead”.

“For now, it is business as usual, and we look forward to seeing you all soon,” Lizotte added.

The 200+ seat art deco theatre, which is over 100 years old, was originally a picture and vaudeville theatre.

Alongside hosting some of the biggest names in music, it has also thrown support behind emerging acts via its Live N Local weekly showcases.

In the coming months, Lizotte’s Newcastle will host Josh Pyke, Wendy Matthews, John Paul Young, Jeff Martin, Alex Lloyd, Adam Harvey, Beccy Cole and more, with gigs booked into 2023.

Back in 2014, it was revealed that Lizotte's in Kincumber, Central Coast and Dee Why, Sydney would both be closing, leaving just the Newcastle venue.

Only a year earlier, Lizotte's Central Coast was forced to cancel a number of shows after a blaze caused an estimated $250,000 to the venue.
