Australian music tours and productions have been forced to cancel shows throughout Asia due to the threat of coronavirus.
As The Age reports, a local production of The Lion King, originally scheduled to commence at China's Qintai Grand Theatre last week, was postponed after "recommendations from health experts".
Production producers, Michael Cassel Group, issued a statement following the postponement.
"There is no higher priority for the Michael Cassel Group than the safety and welfare of our employees, patrons and others connected to the international tour of The Lion King," the statement reads.
"We have a responsibility to provide a safe environment for our audiences and a safe workplace for our employees. This is something we will not compromise on."
It comes after Sydney singer Ruel postponed a number of shows throughout Asia, in support of his Free Time world tour, to September.
"I'm really sad to have to do this but due to the numerous travel restrictions being put in place as a result of the coroniavirus, my team and I have made the tough decision to postpone the remaining dates... "
