Paying tribute to The Beatles' "fifth member", George Martin
A number of prominent Aussie singer-songwriters are coming together for a touring tribute to acclaimed Beatles producer George Martin who passed away earlier this year.
The music icon is often hailed as the band’s fifth member and attributed to helping them find their sound in the ‘60s, with the upcoming February tribute show, From Mania To Revolution – curated by You Am I’s Davey Lane – set to capture the essence of what Martin added to the Beatles’ work.
A selection of classics will be covered across two sets, Eight Days A Week of Beatlemania (The Live Years) and Revolution in the Head (Innovation That Changed The World), through a touring band of Ashley Naylor (vocals, guitar), Linda Bull (vocals), Kram (vocals), Jim Fleming (Keyboards), Davey Lane (MD, vocals, guitar), Nick Murphy (Bass) and Brett Wolfenden (Drums).
In each state, a selection of local legends will make an appearance, with The Audrey’s Taasha Coates confirmed for Adelaide, End Of Fashion’s Justin Burford locked down for Perth, Darren Middleton signing on for Brisbane, Steve Kilbey appearing in Sydney and Deborah Conway singing in Melbourne, among others.
