New variety show is set to feature exciting Australian content
Amateur Hour TV is a new web based variety show from Melbourne artist Laura Imbruglia. The show aims to bring together an assortment of Australian bands, artists, performers, and interesting people in general to create an opportunity to celebrate Australian talent and content.
The program will take on a ‘half hour-ish’ format, featuring a selection of interviews, skits, curios. Perhaps most excitingly, however, it will also be airing recordings of live music filmed in Melbourne’s iconic bars and rehearsal spaces.
There will be a range of musicians and other Australian guests taking on different hosting roles in the show, including but not limited to the cooking segment run by Laura Jean, and Ray Ahn from Hard-Ons illustrating his tour memoirs.
If you thought things couldn't get any more exciting, here's an excerpt from the press release: "Gone are the days of watching your favourite band whittled down to just acoustic guitar and vocals, mixed terribly and interviewed by a morning television host who cares little about their craft. No longer will you scour cable TV, looking for a British or American comedy fix, cos Australian TV is simply not cutting the mustard."
