She'll be hitting the road in support of 'Night Shade' this October and November
Sublime Sydney-bred blues/jazz/just-a-little-bit-country singer-songwriter Lanie Lane is set to shake off the road rust and set out for her first tour of Australia since 2012 to celebrate the forthcoming release of her new studio full-length, Night Shade.
It’s a long overdue journey, which comes three years after the release of her widely acclaimed debut LP To The Horses, a record that helped Lane rack up a litany of achievements in a relatively short time, including signing with the esteemed Ivy League Records, netting a top-20 debut on the ARIA charts, sell-out national tours, bringing a touch of elegance to a raft of festivals, picking up radio and media awards and travelling internationally.
Add in finding the time to retreat to the Victorian wilderness to craft her imminent follow-up album – due out on October 24 via Ivy League – and you perhaps are formulating a pretty good idea of why it’s been such a long time coming. We’ve already been fortunate enough to hear a sample from the forthcoming record – recent lauded single Celeste – but this tour marks the first proper chance Aussie fans will have to acquaint themselves in-depth with her new and improved body of work.
Lanie Lane’s Night Shade tour – on which she’ll be accompanied by the full band who helped her bring to life the album’s compositions – kicks off at Melbourne’s Corner Hotel on Wednesday, October 29, and takes her through Sydney, Wollongong, Perth and Adelaide on her ultimate path to Brisbane, where she rounds out proceedings at the Hi-Fi on Saturday, November 15.

Excitingly, Lane will have a chance to celebrate launch day as the venerated guest of legendary crooner Tom Jones, when she supports his show at Melbourne’s Forum Theatre on September 24.
Tickets for the Night Shade tour go on sale via Lane’s website on Monday, October 22.
