“It's unusual for us to have booked so many acts so early on but that is what we can confirm we have done."

Managing to host one of its most successful runs to date in 2020 just before the world shutdown, Laneway is expected to finally return in early 2023 after two years off.

Across the weekend, organisers released a statement that not only confirmed 2023 was slated to proceed as ‘normal’, but teased “one of those very special Laneway line-ups”.

“Right now we'd be sailing the Laneway cruise liner into Australia/NZ, docking at Adelaide. For obvious reasons we have decided to sit out again this year but rest assured, we are busy bees preparing for Laneway ’23,” they said.

“With the exciting news announced recently that our borders will open to all visa holders in late Feb along with the reopening of Sydney and Melbourne's dance floors, we feel there's an optimism and confidence that things are returning to 'normal' quite soon.

“It's unusual for us to have booked so many acts so early on but that is what we can confirm we have done for Laneway 23; and it's already feeling like one of those very special Laneway line-ups... there are so many exciting ideas and dreams coming into the picture and we look forward to sharing them with you into the new normal.”

Laneway 2020 boasted the likes of The 1975, Earl Sweatshirt, Charli XCX, Tones & I, Spacey Jane and stacks more.
