Ladies & Gentlemen, Introducing: Trauma Bond

Trauma Bond: a new band from former members of Jack The Stripper.

Trauma Bond: a new band from former members of Jack The Stripper.

Ever since the sad demise of Melbourne's Jack The Stripper in October 2016, I’ve been eagerly excited to see if that extreme band’s insane frontman, Luke Frizon, would move onto a new project in the wake of that masterfully chaotic group's disbandment. Well, as of this past week, the ex-vocalist has done just that!

Teaming up with his old Jack The Stripper bandmate, guitarist Adam Harris, as well as Melbourne-based electronic producer Dane Blake (who some will know under his Capture moniker), the trio together forms a new project: Trauma Bond. According to this newly formed heavy outfit, and as their name somewhat suggests, Trauma Bond is a grinding hardcore/metal band whose brutal sound aims to discuss the "...patterns of abuse in what’s hopefully a cathartic, validating way."

In checking out their debut demo track, the lyrically bleak and musically visceral 'Terminally Yours', I can definitely confirm as much. The short piece is a raw and heavy, riff-driven 104-second listen; one that hangs low with the scent of death and loss (in some form or another). All as it centres around being bound to someone and their actions for life - for better and for worse. It's violently good stuff, so go and have a listen or two below:
