The spectacular opening party of the world's biggest Queer party delivered

More Kylie Minogue More Kylie Minogue

WorldPride got off to a spectacular start tonight with a massive party in Sydney's Domain, but the big news of the night was Dannii Minogue joining Kylie to close out the show with a sisterly duet of Kylie's hit All The Lovers. Kylie Minogue had already impressed with a set of hits including Can't Get You Out Of My Head and Your Disco Needs You, but the rumoured appearance of Dannii tipped the set from being a huge party to being an iconic moment.

Rumours swirled around the afternoon after the two Minogue sisters were snapped together earlier in the day, but they managed to keep the performance under wraps.

Earlier in the evening, party-goers were treated to sets from Charli XCX, Jessica Mauboy, Electric Fields and more. The evening was opened by First Nations opera star Deborah Cheetam Frallion and was hosted by Courtney Act and Casey Donovan.

The Sydney WorldPride program features over 300 acts and is tipped to be the biggest event in Sydney since the 2000 Olympic games. As Nine News reports, WorldPride is tipped to inject "$600 million into the local economy as 500,000 international travellers head Down Under for the 17-day celebration."

WorldPride continues with Saturday's 45th Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras broadcast live on ABC TV.
