Kentucky hardcore punk outfit Knocked Loose have returned with a thrilling surprise release, Upon Loss, which contains two blistering new singles, Deep In The Willow and Everything Is Quiet Now.
The tracks are officially on streaming services. They arrive accompanied by a brutal music video featuring stunning cinematography directed by Eric Richter and vocalist Bryan Garris.
Deep In The Willow is enraged, including lyrics like “A KING TO NONE / Your greed lies deeper than blood,” while Everything Is Quiet Now ends with a soothing fade-out after the head-spinning heaviness. It’s how the song must end following breakdowns and the final lines: “In the dead of night I was visited by death again / Upon loss / Everything is quiet now”.
“Deep In The Willow and Everything Is Quiet Now are a reminder that we are heavy, intense, and extreme,” Garris said in a statement.
Garris continued, “Some elements come and go, but those will never change. After A Tear In The Fabric Of Life, we were inspired to see how much art we could incorporate moving forward – which led us to a style of video we’ve never attempted or approached.
“Taking myself specifically far outside of my comfort zone and pushing the boundaries on how I’ve been seen in the past was a creative experience I will never forget. This video wouldn’t be what it is without the collaboration with Eric Richter, someone we’ve admired for a while. And the songs wouldn’t be what they are without [producer] Drew Fulk, a new friend and creative ear in the entire process.”

Earlier this year, Knocked Loose started circle pits at Coachella festival in Indio, California, inspiring concertgoers who had never been to a hardcore show before to get involved and embrace that community spirit.
Taking over the Sonora stage at night, Knocked Loose pulled an impressive crowd - even better still, punters up front were enthusiastic about breakdowns and screams and did not hesitate to crowd surf.
Ripping through A Tear In The Fabric Of Life tracks God Knows and Where Light Divides The Holier, devastatingly heavy tracks from Laugh Tracks (Counting Worms included) and five tracks from A Different Shade Of Blue, the band put on a show we’ll never forget. Check out footage of punters crowd-surfing during their set below.
