Iconic Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett states he is still haunted by the death of former band mate Cliff Burton some decades after the bassist’s passing.
Speaking to Metal Hammer recently, Hammett muses that this month’s tour through Scandinavia opened up some raw emotions.
“When we boarded the bus again this week and had to travel overnight, I realized (sic) that those bad memories are still here. I still haven’t overcome the fear of buses. But the show must go on,” Hammett said.
Burton died tragically when Metallica’s tour van crashed in Sweden on September 27th 1986.
