Eleven artists are eligible for a slice of Creative Victoria's Music Works Quick Response pie

Attending Brisbane's BIGSOUND events, embarking on international tours and other networking opportunities are on the horizon for 11 Victoria-based artists selected as recipients for a share in $60,000 worth of grant money via Creative Victoria's Quick Response program.

Of the recipients, four will be provided funds to showcase at BIGSOUND and attend networking opportunities in Brisbane next month, with $4000 going to Jesse Lubitz of Tinpan Orange, $2900 to Jess Cornelius of Teeth & Tongue, $4500 to Ecca Vandal, and $5000 to ubiquitous up-and-comer Alex Lahey.

Additionally, veteran heavyweights King Parrot nabbed $9000 for their Battle Of The Bays European tour (with Obituary, Exodus and Prong); celebrated rockers Dallas Frasca picked up $7000 towards their Check Bang world tour; and Nathan Williams took out the largest slice, with $10,000 set aside for his Power North American tour. 

Meanwhile, Ali Barter walked away with $7000 for Australian support tours; Liam Gerner grabbed $5000 for a US radio promo tour, album release and Americana 2016 showcase; Sarah Carroll was awarded $3000 for an Americana tour; and James Ware, of Waving At Trains artist management, earned $3100 to go towards international networking for artist roster, distribution and booking development.

The next round of Music Works Quick Response Grants opens on Monday 29 August for projets beginning from 6 October 2016. Grants worth $1000 to $5000 are available for individuals, with groups and organisations able to apply for anywhere from $1000 to $15,000.
