Interested in getting an insight into the music industry from some of its biggest movers and shakers? Then you’re not going to want to miss Kimbra, Soundwave boss AJ Maddah and countless other creative types when they spill the beans at the 2012 Face The Music conference.
Taking place in Melbourne’s Arts Centre precinct from 16 – 17 November, the not-for-profit music conference will feature over 100 speakers, including Chet Faker, Jess Cornelius, David Bridie, Mark Seymour, Weddings Parties Anything, Van Walker, Angie Hart, Charles Jenkins and King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard.
However, one of the conference’s biggest drawcards has to be AJ Maddah, who will be making his first appearance speaking at a conference level. As the mastermind behind the Soundwave and Harvest festivals, the Face The Music website reports, “the In Conversation session will feature insights into AJ’s audacious career as a festival promoter and his approach to branding both himself and his two genre divergent festivals”.
Returning from months of international touring Kimbra will make her first public appearance back in Australia at Face The Music 2012. The In Conversation with Kimbra session will provide the opportunity to hear the inspiration and stories behind Kimbra’s songwriting and collaborations, whilst providing participants the opportunity to pick the brains, heart and mind of one of Australia’s most sought after female solo artists.
One day and two day tickets are on sale now for $45 ($30 concession) or $70 ($50 concession).
