Barnes, Barnett & More To Feature On Re-release Of Seminal Kev Carmody Album

Australian music royalty Kev Carmody is being celebrated once again this year, with a special re-release of the 2007 tribute compilation, Cannot Buy My Soul.

The new edition of the album, set for release on 21 August, features the original track listing, as well as a handful of brand new cover versions by some of the country’s most revered artists.

Produced by and featuring songwriting legend Paul Kelly, the album is an eclectic mix of classic Carmody tracks being interpreted by the likes of Missy Higgins, Tex Perkins, Clare Bowditch and many more.

The album also features a number of remastered and special edition recordings Carmody originals, as well as the brand new additions of covers by Jimmy Barnes and Kasey Chambers, Courtney Barnett, Archie Roach, Mo'Ju and Birdz (produced by Trials), Electric Fields and more.

“It’s great to hear the younger ones take it into their own genre, add their own words to them," Carmody said.

"That’s part of the oral tradition, pass it on."
