More Keith Urban More Keith Urban

Keith Urban might a household name but surprisingly, it's taken him some 30 years to land in the ARIA Singles Chart top 10!

Urban secured himself a place in the top 10 this past weekend thanks to his collaboration with P!nk on their track One Too Many

Hang on, really?
Yeah, somehow. Prior to now, the closest Urban had gotten to the top 10 was back in 2007 thanks to a live recording of John Butler Trio's Funky Tonight from their performance together at the ARIA Awards, which landed at #11 on the Singles Chart.

In 2006 Urban achieved his highest ever Aus chart single with Once In A Lifetime at #18 but wouldn't get back into the top 20 until 2017 with his Carrie Underwood collab, The Fighter, peaking at #19.

What about overseas though?
This is where it gets interesting because before this weekend Urban had actually charted higher on the US Singles Chart than he had here in Australia with a studio track, with Kiss A Girl coming in at #16 back in 2009.

The US Hot Country Songs chart has also been plenty kind to Urban over the years too, where he's secured his first #1 back in 2000 with But For The Grace Of God. He's had 17 #1 singles on the chart since, with the most recent as part of the Forever Country mash-up track.

What else has happened?
The Singles Chart isn't the only place Urban found success this weekend though with his latest album, Future Of Now Part 1, claiming the #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart.

This marks Urban's fourth-ever Aus #1 album with 2013's Fuse, 2016's Ripcord and 2012 compilation The Story So Far all claiming the top spot.

"It’s letting go of parameters, boundaries, expectations, limitations of any sort and taking the most honest and accurate photograph of who I am and where I am musically and personally right now," said Urban of the new album.
