Negotiations between the rapper and festival have hit a wall.

More Kanye West More Kanye West

Kanye West has reportedly passed on headlining Coachella 2019 after negotiations with the US festival broke down.

According to TMZ, the US rapper did not want to perform on the traditional 60x40 stage as it is "artistically limiting", however Coachella producers, Goldenvoice, have refused to alter the stage specifically for his set.

It's believed West wanted to perform on a stage similar to the one used on his 2016 Saint Pablo tour, which moved and was even raised above the audience.

Other acts rumoured to headline the California festival this April includes Childish Gambino, Justin Timberlake and Rihanna.

Last year's Coachella was headlined by Eminem, Beyoncé and The Weeknd. The 2019 line-up is expected to be revealed later this month.
