"After getting off the stage, exhaustion overtook me, and I realized that I need to make my health the priority right now. So I’m going to take a break from touring for the time being. I’m going to be ok, but I need time to rest and get better, I’ve been so proud to bring this show and our message of Justice to the world. Thank you for your prayers and support throughout all of this! I love you all passionately!”

Justin Bieber has suspended his Justice world tour. The pop star took to Instagram to announce his withdrawal from all upcoming dates, revealing details behind the decision to pull the plug on the tour, at least for now.

“Earlier this year, I went public about my battle with Ramsay-Hunt Syndrome, where my face was partially paralyzed,” Bieber shared.

"As the result of this illness, I was not able to complete the North American leg of the Justice Tour,” he continued. “After resting and consulting with my doctors, family and team, I went to Europe in an effort to continue with the tour. I performed six live shows, but it took a real toll on me. After getting off the stage, exhaustion overtook me, and I realized that I need to make my health the priority right now. So I’m going to take a break from touring for the time being. I’m going to be ok, but I need time to rest and get better, I’ve been so proud to bring this show and our message of Justice to the world. Thank you for your prayers and support throughout all of this! I love you all passionately!”

The pop star still has 70 shows left to go on the tour, including a run of Australian appearances in November. There is no information on when or if the tour will be rescheduled.

It is the second time in just over a year that Bieber has been forced to halt touring, following a similar tour withdrawal in June last year. At the time, he revealed that he was suffering from Ramsay Hunt Syndrome.

The debilitating condition saw the Ghost hitmaker cancel the remainder of his North American shows at the time taking to Instagram to explain the situation to fans.

“As you can probably see from my face, I have this syndrome called Ramsay Hunt syndrome and it is from this virus that attacks the nerve in my ear and my facial nerves," he explained in a video.

"As you can see, this eye is not blinking, I can’t smile on this side of my face, this nostril will not move. So there’s full paralysis on this side of my face. So for those who are frustrated by my cancellations of the next shows, I’m just physically not capable of doing them."

Ramsay Hunt is a rare but serious disease caused by the same virus as Chicken Pox and shingles. Most patients will recover, however, there are many cases of permanent paralysis and hearing loss. The condition is similar to Bell's Palsy but can be more severe.

"This is pretty serious, as you can see," said Bieber. "I wish this wasn’t the case, but obviously, my body’s telling me I gotta slow down and I hope you guys understand.”
