"I liked the way it metaphorically described such a distinct moment in time that is quite universal to everyone."
Multi-disciplinary artist JOY has today released new single Out On The Moon.
The release comes alongside the announcement that Out On The Moon is the second instalment from her forthcoming EP, Portal, set for release on April 29.
The track features otherworldy euphoric production that combines perfectly with JOY's vocals. Conceptually, it focuses on the distance that can be created with love, and the repercussions that can have on self-identity and worth.
“Alone On The Moon is a special song to me," JOY said.
"I couldn’t get the phrase 'alone on the moon' out of my head. I liked the way it metaphorically described such a distinct moment in time that is quite universal to everyone.
"The idea of feeling disconnected from what you know, and somewhat who you were. It represents the concept of feeling so far away while still being present, whether that is in a relationship or in daily life experiences."
