Pyke becomes a school teacher
Josh Pyke has been involved in the latest Music Matters project, a collaboration with Music: Play For Life's Count Us In school initiative.
An initiative of the Music Council of Australia, Music: Play For Life has run the Music: Count Us In annually since 2007 and it aims to have thousands of students from around country all singing the same song at the same time. This year's song was Different People (Stand Together), as was written by students Jorja Bromley, Ryan Chelva and Sun Kim under the mentorship of Pyke.
UK-originating music advocacy initiative Music Matters have turned the track into a video – as is their habit – with the animation designed by Sydney-based Motionlab.
Count Us In and Music Council Of Australia's Tina Broad said that, “Research shows that, despite the unique benefits it brings to students' emotional, social and academic development, music education is pushed to the fringes in most schools.”
