Noiseworks and The Dead Daisies singer Jon Stevens has reportedly been charged with assault and issued with an interim Apprehended Violence Order in an alleged incident with fiancé Jodhi Meares.
According to reports in tabloids Fairfax, News Limited and the Daily Mail, Stevens was charged with an alleged assault in the couple’s Sydney home on Monday. In a statement to news.com.au police confirmed they attended the home on Monday in response do a domestic incident between a 52-year-old man and 42-year-old woman.
The 52-year-old was charged with assault and released on bail. He will appear at Waverley Local Court today. The AVO prohibits Stevens from approaching Meares, a fashion designer, for 28 days.
New Zealand-born Stevens made his name with Noiseworks but also spent time fronting INXS in the early ‘00s. He has most recently been a driving force in the band The Dead Daisies, which has seen members of Guns ‘N Roses, The Rolling Stones, The Cult and Nine Inch Nails be part of the rotating line-up.
