Jon Hopkins has announced he's returning to Australia in 2020.
The British producer, composer and DJ will be playing a headline show at the Sydney Opera House and The Forum in Melbourne, as well as a DJ set at Jack Rabbit Slim's in Perth in early January.
"I’ve been pursuing Jon Hopkins’ return to the Sydney Opera House for seven years so it’s an immense pleasure to be announcing his upcoming performance here at the height of summer," said Sydney Opera House's Head of Contemporary Music Ben Marshall.
"He is one of the most significant electronic artists of his generation, a true auteur like his peer Four Tet and one who seamlessly blends the surging techno drive of artists like Opera House alumni Underworld and Richie Hawtin with the searching instrumentality of Nils Frahm to create a compelling and spiritual sonic world all his own.
"Bringing visuals, lights and a grand piano to the stage he is pulling out all the stops to make this his grandest Australian live statement yet. Don’t miss Jon Hopkins at the apex of his powers."
Tickets for the show go on sale from 9am on Friday 26 July. Head to theGuide for all the info.
