Mightier Than Sword Records has announced that they will be re-issuing the audio book of John Joseph's autobiography, "The Evolution of a Cro-Magnon" on June 21st on CD. The audio book will also be available digitally for purchase through all online digital music stores on June 21st as well. The book is narrated by John Joseph himself, which truly brings his fascinating story to life and adds a completely new dimension to the text.
This is the first book by John Joseph, legendary frontman for revered New York hardcore punk band THE CRO-MAGS. In "The Evolution of a Cro-Magnon", Joseph has written a compelling memoir to exercise demons that have haunted him throughout his life. In it he holds nothing back, detailing a childhood full of heartbreak, homelessness, and survival on the 1970s mean streets of New York City through any means necessary.
Joseph's subject matter is raw, gritty, and real. The book includes personal material that he has never before shared, with the hope that it can inspire others who are struggling to know that there is always light at the end of a dark period. Although the book was first published in 2007, Mightier Than the Sword Records has again made "The Evolution of a Cro-Magnon" available on audio via CD and digital download, and for the first time in wide release.
This book is an intense listen for those who have ever considered themselves a fan of the Cro-Mags, been in a band on the road, or anyone who feels the simple need to be inspired. Joseph's incredible story of overcoming overwhelming odds and obstacles throughout his life is not only a compelling read, but one that leaves the reader changed and exhilarated about all life has to offer.
