John Butler has announced a new live album, Live In Paris, which comes in a massive triple vinyl and double CD release, recorded over two magical sold-out shows at the prestigious Le Trianon in Paris.
The new release is the fifth live album from the West Australian music icon. It gives fans two hours of energetic soul and rock music, intimate stories, and philosophies behind John Butler’s beloved catalogue.
Live In Paris follows Butler's previous live releases, Living 2001–2002, 2005’s Live At St Gallen, 2009’s Live At Lollapalooza, and 2011’s iconic Live At Red Rocks.
Featuring passionate renditions of crowd favourites such as Zebra, Betterman, and the instrumental epic Ocean, as well as an exclusive spoken word track, Wings To Fly and a reworking of Revolution utilising loop technology, John Butler's Live In Paris is an immersive live experience recorded for fans across the world to enjoy.
“There were a lot of setbacks to get the European tour across the line, and a lot of hurdles to overcome to get this album recorded,” Butler admitted, after two postponements and a cancellation due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
He added, “But we eventually got there. Good things take time, and I couldn’t think of a more beautiful part of the globe to have recorded it in or a better way to share it with the world. It was worth the wait.”
