Jesus Piece returned last month with their latest rager, An Offering To The Night, which we were all waiting for. The song crushes in a groove-heavy way and is packed with tons of energy. The single is also the band's first release on their label home, Century Media, and the first taste of new music from Jesus Piece since their mind-blowing 2018 debut album, Only Self.
Today, the Philadelphia band announce their second album and first in five years, ...So Unknown, which will be released on 14 April via Century Media. They also shared another intense new single, Gates Of Horn. Their new album was produced by the Every Time I Die and The Acacia Strain collaborator, Randy LeBouef, and its ten tracks run for 28 minutes.
Drummer Luis Aponte said about the album:
The making of the record was nothing short of all-consuming. It was an intense and challenging process. The record reflects a lot of confusion, but also, evolution. There was a lot of uncertainty and emotion during the pandemic– we all changed and grew so much. So if there is a single thought or concept to the record, it’s constant metamorphosis. That’s also how we operated as a band on this LP– spending a lot of time songwriting and fleshing things out as a unit, and then upping our game from there. It’s definitely a reflection of us as more mature, playing the best we’ve ever played and feeling like a real band for the first time.
"A big goal on …So Unknown, outside of songwriting and technical goals, was to capture the same energy on record that we have live – for people to get that sense of urgency and danger.
Jesus Piece are now labelmates alongside Arch Enemy, Body Count, Electric Callboy, Lorna Shore, Sick Of It All, and many more. The group's new single arrives with the news that they have embarked on a collaborative relationship with Noah Clothing; the collection will be available online this Thursday, 8 December.
