"I just feel really, like, blessed to be able to do one. It’s actually so surreal."

After several weeks off, triple j made a triumphant return to their weekly staple Like A Version today - with rapper Jesswar stepping up to the plate for the regular feature.

Kicking off with her brand new track Bad Like RiRi, the Gold Coast hip hop star went on to deliver a trashing cover version of the Limp Bizkit hit Rollin' - complete with a full live band.

"You just like grow up watching them so I just feel really, like, blessed to be able to do one. It’s actually so surreal," she said of the performance. "When we were in rehearsals yesterday I was like, ‘aw shit, this is happening.’"

Speaking on her choice of cover song, Jesswar stated, "It’s so nostalgic for those early 2000s vibes, you know, that nu-metal sound - and I feel like, it’s sort of, like, coming back.

"I just like the way that it’s mixed with hip hop and rap with, you know, rock music. I think it’s such a cool contrast, it has this great energy - both hip hop and, you know, rock music, punk music, they have great energies."

The performer is no stranger to hitting the ABC studios for a cover version. Back in June, she performed on the season final of The Set alongside Amity Affliction and Peking Duk - putting a stellar hip hop spin on the AC/DC classic TNT.
