A new music festival is heading to Fremantle this May, sporting a special line-up starring international and local acts.
Held across three venues from May to June (The Naval Store, PS Art Space, and Buffalo Club), ARRIVAL is designed to fill a gap between Western Australia and the national touring circuit of artists and musicians, particularly to align with other major winter festivals like RISING (Melbourne), Vivid (Sydney), and Dark Mofo (Hobart).
Headlining the inaugural edition of ARRIVAL in Fremantle are UK electronic duo Mount Kimbie, Californian folk singer-songwriter Jessica Pratt, shoegazing outfit DIIV, and the ethereal Atlanta rapper Bktherula.
A number of local acts, including Mali Jo$e, Gia Como, Nika Mo, New Nausea, and Mira Nala (Dom Simper/Tame Impala), will represent WA’s homegrown talents for the first outing of the ARRIVAL festival.
Ambient duo Wilson Tanner (Melbourne), hardcore act Blind Girls (Brisbane), and festival mainstay ClubbMedd will also take over the final weekend with a curated night of high-energy dance.
ARRIVAL’S range of venues features historically rich sites like The Naval Store, a heritage-listed warehouse near Fremantle’s port, now repurposed as a space for large-scale music events. The contemporary Pakenham Street Art Space offers a venue for exhibitions and live experimental performances. The Buffalo Club is a beloved underground venue for intimate, community-driven events in the heart of Fremantle.

ARRIVAL marks an exciting new chapter for Western Australia's music scene. This community-focused festival converges international and local acts on home turf, offering a new platform for alternative music in the West. ARRIVAL’s carefully curated lineup and range of unique venues are bound to make its mark on Australia's national festival roster. Whilst the first year is said to be focused on live music, the following years will expand to include a dedicated arts program.
