Kicking off this Friday.

A stack of incredible local talent is set to join the second season of Green Music Australia and School Strike 4 Climate's Climate Fridays series.

The live streamed online event sees performances and panel discussions from local acts and will this season feature Jen Cloher, Cub Sport, Allday, Barkaa, Gretta Ray and more.

Hosted by Nkechi Anele, the series will kick off its second season on Friday August 14 from 6pm, and will run through to 25 September, and aims to support organisations SEED Indigenous Youth Climate Network, Original Power and Lock The Gate.

“The convergence of our health and climate crises has created a once in a generation opportunity for change," said Green Music CEO Berish Bilander

"While our Federal Government stands poised to legislate ‘coronavirus capitalism’, propping up dirty fossil fuel companies with taxpayer funds, Aussie artists, First Peoples and students are uniting behind a safer, greener vision for our future, powered by renewable energy. Climate Fridays offers music-lovers the chance to kick off their shoes, dance away the COVID blues, and get active on one of the biggest issue of our times."

"It’s an honour to stand in solidarity with SEED Indigenous Youth Network and School Strike for Climate to speak up against the Morrison government’s plan to bankroll new dirty gas projects with billions of public dollars," added Cloher.

"Climate Fridays is an opportunity for artists and activists to come together and use these discussions to inform ourselves so we can take these conversations into our communities. Thanks to Green Music Australia for their connective work in facilitating these sessions."
