Service to cease next month.

Aussie retailer JB Hi-Fi has today announced that its music streaming service, JB NOW Music, will cease operating next month after a five-year stint.

As STACK reports, "music streaming market saturation and consolidation of existing freemium services" have led to the decision for JB NOW Music to fold.

The music service will cease operations on 17 March and as of today, no new subscriptions or renewals will be available.

Commenting on the announcement, JB Hi-Fi CEO Richard Murray said, "The music department is entrenched in the DNA of JB Hi-Fi and we are committed to continuing to provide the largest range of CDs and vinyl across our 180 stores nationally and on our online store."

“Engaging with our loyal music customers outside the store is key to the ongoing success of music at JB, and the team are very excited about future plans to amplify that engagement."

Any JB NOW Music gift cards can be refunded or exchanged for store credit in store or online.
