The former Swans member cancels at the last minute.

More Jarboe More Jarboe

Former Swans vocalist and keyboardist Jarboe was set to make her first appearance in Australia for a run of solo shows in support of Neurosis frontman Scott Kelly this week, but today it has been announced that she will no longer be making the trip to Australia.

Fellow Neurosis member Noah Landis will play a solo set to fill the gap left by Jarboe's cancellation and San Franciscan Greg Dale will also perform solo at all shows.

Heathen Skulls' Robert MacManus, promoter of the tour, announced on Facebook today that her appearance on the tour was being pulled due to unforeseen circumstances.

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, it's with great sadness that Jarboe has had to cancel her upcoming Australian tour.

With that said........

The tour is to continuing as planned, Neurosis founder and guitarist / vocalist Scott Kelly will still be headlining this tour, to replace JARBOE, Noah Landis (USA - Neurosis / Tribes of Neurot) will now be opening the shows solo, along with Greg Dale (USA - ex-Bomb).

This tour is now a NEUROSIS presented experience.”

Jarboe joined Swans in 1985 and stayed with the band up until their 1997 disbanding. She hasn't rejoined the group in their new incarnation, but did contribute to the 2012 LP The Seer. As a solo artist she has released somewhere in the vicinity of 18 solo albums, including this year's A Symphony For Shiva.

UPDATE: Heathen Skulls have issued an official statement saying that illness is the reason Jarboe has been forced to cancel the dates.

"She's far too sick to travel at the present time and there is no news of rescheduled dates at the present time," the statement reads.
