Jane’s Addiction have cancelled the remainder of their reunion tour dates in the US – the first time the band had toured with its original line-up in 14 years – after singer Perry Farrell punched guitarist Dave Navarro on stage on Friday (13 September).

The band announced that the rest of the tour, which was set to continue throughout this month, is now off. The band’s statement, shared on Instagram this morning, reads:

To all the fans,

The band have made the difficult decision to take some time away as a group. As such, they will be cancelling the remainder of the tour.

Refunds for the cancelled dates will be issued at your point of purchase – or if you purchase from a third-party resale site like StubHub, SeatGeek, etc, please reach out to them direct.

Thank you, Jane’s Addiction.

In a separate post shared by Navarro and signed off by him, bassist Eric Avery, and drummer Stephen Perkins, the trio said their hearts are “broken” by the incident that unfolded.

“Due to a continuing pattern of behavior [sic] and the mental health difficulties of our singer Perry Farrell, we have come to the conclusion that we have no choice but to discontinue the current US tour,” the joint statement began.

Adding that their concern for the singer’s “personal health and safety” as well as their own has left the band with no alternative, Farrell’s bandmates wrote that they hope he finds “the help he needs.”

The statement continued, “We deeply regret that we are not able to come through for all our fans who have already bought tickets. We can see no solution that would either ensure a safe environment on stage or reliably allow us to deliver a great performance on a nightly basis.

“Our hearts are broken. Dave, Eric and Stephen.”

A few hours later, Farrell shared a statement on his Instagram Stories, where he took “full accountability” for reaching his “breaking point” that resulted in “inexcusable behaviour.”

The singer wrote, “This weekend has been incredibly difficult and after having the time and space to reflect, it is only right that I apologize [sic] to my bandmates, especially Dave Navarro, fans, family and friends for my actions during Friday's show.

“Unfortunately, my breaking point resulted in inexcusable behavior [sic], and I take full accountability for how I chose to handle the situation.”
