Triple j's House Party’s Jade Zoe has announced the “bittersweet” news that she has chosen to leave her position as host of the radio program after nearly three years.

In an Instagram post, the host wrote: “PSA: I’ve decided to leave @triple_j My last show will be this Sat 2nd Sept. There are a number of reasons for my departure with one being to focus on Chinese Medicine.”

“I am sad to be leaving but know this is the right decision for me. It’s a bittersweet end to the 2.5 years of being the host and producer of House Party. I started during lockdown which was a really weird and lonely time. This show really helped me through it! Spending my Saturday nights with the whole country made that time feel a whole less lonely, Thank you !!”

Jade continued, “When I was growing up there wasn’t much representation of Asian Australians and we still have a long way to go, so I took this job seriously and pushed for that representation on and off air.”

“I am so grateful I was able to share music with the whole country on a weekly basis and share parts of my culture with the Lunar New Year specials. I felt the appreciation through the textline and sometimes abuse. I will forever be proud of everything I’ve brought to House Party.”

“I’m so grateful for all the friends I’ve made and the experiences I’ve had working here. To anyone who has sent me music, thank you ! To all the listeners, thank you for sharing your Saturday night with me and keeping me company. Also, don’t worry I’m still a DJ so you can still hear my mixes, but IRL! I will miss you so much, stay safe, I love you !!! I managed to get a NewJeans song added to rotation, and I truly hope it’s not the last K-Pop song we hear on triple j.”

She concluded, “Join me this Sat 6-10pm for my last House Party. It’s going to be huge and I’ll probably cry 🫶❤️”

Jade took the reigns for House Party over from Ebony Boadu back in 2021. Having performed all over the country and with many years in the game, helming her own parties and club nights, and delivering stellar mixes, there's no denying she curated some epic tunes in her time in the role.

Jade Zoe isn’t the only triple j host to make an exit of late — in July this year, Drive hosts, Hobba & Hing announced their departure after three years on the airwaves.

Since starting their show in 2020, the pair brought joy to triple j with their radio segment-turned-hit podcast, Simply the Jest, designed triple j's first-ever mascot, Dr Um, Hing's horrific teenage diaries, created the world's first festival-scented candleauditioned for Magic Mike, and introduced Australia's Best Competition Competition.
