J Hus, Rema, Jorja Smith Heading To Perth For Promise Village Festival

The new Perth music festival will host current-day R&B, hip-hop, and Afrobeats stars.

Perth will soon receive a new, epic music festival that will host current-day R&B, hip-hop, and Afrobeats stars. West Coast punters, meet Promise Village music festival.

Welcoming punters to the village, the inaugural edition of the festival—presented by triple j—has locked in J Hus, Jorja Smith, Rema, Headie One, and more, with Yung Filly hosting the event throughout the day. You can check out the complete line-up below.

The new event will take place at Langley Park, Perth, on Saturday, 12 October. Pre-sale tickets go on sale this Friday, 12 July, at noon AWST before the general sale opens at noon on Monday, 15 July. You can find tickets via the Promise Village website.

In a statement, festival co-director Emal Naim said about the new one-day music event, “This is a long time coming for Perth, and we can’t wait to host a music festival on a global standard to a community of fans who have been waiting patiently.”

Naim has brought other new music festivals to Australia in recent years: Souled Out and Promiseland.

Earlier this year, the inaugural Souled Out festival brought Bryson Tiller, Summer Walker, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Tinashe, and more to Australia, hitting Sydney, the Gold Coast and Melbourne back in March.

“R&B as a genre now is as strong as ever, and it’s about time Australia gets a live experience dedicated to it,” Naim commented in a press release. “This has been a long time coming.”

Another festival co-founded by Naim, Promiseland—described as Australia’s biggest multi-cultural festival—locked in a whopping 79 acts for this year’s event, which takes place in early October at Doug Jennings Park on the Gold Coast.

J Hus recently joined the line-up as a surprise headliner, accompanying fellow Promise Village acts Jorja Smith, Headie One, and Rema.
