Californian prog-metal outfit Isis have recently discussed additional elements that contributed to the band’s split.
Killyourstereo reported last month the group’s decision to disband after thirteen years together. In an initial statement issued by the band, Isis affirmed they had achieved everything they had hoped for as a musical act.
“ISIS has done everything we wanted to do, said everything we wanted to say. In the interest of preserving the love we have of this band, for each other, for the music made and for all the people who have continually supported us, it is time to bring it to a close.”
Speaking to Artisan News Service, the Los Angeles quintet outline the time and circumstances felt right for the split.
“All of us have had very conflicting feelings about it, but one thing we talked about from the very early days of the band is that we never wanted to continue past the point of all of us being fully engaged in what we are doing,” vocalist and guitarist Aaron Turner said.
Isis’s last studio album was 2009’s ‘Wavering Radiant’.
