Less than a month after its lineup was announced, the 2024 edition of Naarm/Melbourne’s Now & Again festival might be in serious trouble.

As eagle-eyed commenters have pointed out online, the festival’s website currently leads to 404 error, indicating it’s been shut down. Its TikTok account has also been wiped from the net, and despite trying on several different browsers and devices, we couldn’t get the OzTix page to load with any options to purchase tickets. In addition, the festival’s social media team have limited comments on its Instagram page.

TheMusic.com.au reached out to representatives of Now & Again for comment last Friday (November 3). An anonymous source close to the festival told us that communication issues lie at the core of its problems: local promotors are reported unable to contact overseas parties involved with the festival’s operation, and promotional efforts have effectively ceased.

Punters were expectedly hyped for Now & Again 2024, especially since Metro Boomin was announced as its headliner. The heavyweight DJ had previously pulled out of Listen Out 2023, and his set at next year’s Now & Again was set to be an Australian exclusive.

The festival was (or perhaps still is) scheduled to take place at Melbourne Showgrounds on Saturday February 3, with its lineup also featuring the likes of Golden Features, Milky Chance, Lastlings, Kölsch and Dusky. Head here for more info on the event.

At the time of writing, the team behind Now & Event are yet to make an announcement on the likelihood of its 2024 event going ahead.
