Is Kanye West Donald Trump's Last Hope To Book An A-Lister Act For His Inauguration?

Because everyone else has rejected the offer.

US President Barack Obama's inauguration back in 2009 featured performances from high-profile names like Beyonce, but apparently President-elect Donald Trump is struggling to find anyone willing to play at his ceremony next month.

Following the recent catch-up between Trump and Kanye West, it is now being speculated that the rapper is the next option.

As NY Times reported, Trump appeared with West at Trump Tower where he told reporters, "We’ve been friends for a long time".

West, who was released from hospital this month following reports of a nervous breakdown, did not answer when asked if he was considering playing at Trump's inauguration.

A number of big acts have been attached to the event, but according to The Wrap, there are very few who want to take part.

"They are willing to pay anything," an unnamed source said.

"They told me, 'We’ll pay their fees.' Most of these artists' fees are in the six to seven figures."

It was reported last month that UK icon Elton John was confirmed on the bill, however his publicist quickly shut the talk down, saying in a statement, "Incorrect. He will NOT be performing".

While names including Kid Rock have been mentioned, it has been reported that Trump's camp is still on the hunt for an A-lister name, such as Justin Timberlake or Bruno Mars.

Shortly after their appearance together, West took to Twitter to address what his meeting with Trump was all about.

"I wanted to meet with Trump today to discuss multicultural issues," he tweeted.

"These issues included bullying, supporting teachers, modernizing curriculums, and violence in Chicago.

"I feel it is important to have a direct line of communication with our future President if we truly want change."

Yeezy followed it up with a tweet that simply reads "#2024", again sparking talk that he will run for president in eight years time.
